800 nautical miles. That is the difference between planning and reality of last year's tour of the Hamburg based Stephan Boden with his Varianta 18 "DIGGER". He wanted to do a 1800 miles route around the Baltic Sea with his dog and girlfriend in 2012. "In the end it was" only "1000 miles in 4 months. Due to the bad weather we had to spend one port day after another, even entire harbor weeks on the boat", he told us.
He has learned from this experience. This summer he will go sailing for a few months as well - with his dog but without a plan. He calls this "Roulette sailing".
